Frequently Asked Questions

What all sizes are available?

Sirona menstrual cups comes in small, medium, and large sizes depending on the flow.

How long can I use menstrual cups?

With proper care and sterilisation, Sirona menstrual cups can last up to 5 years. When retiring your menstrual cup, cut in in small pieces and discard it in trash.

Is the cup soft or hard?

Sirona Menstrual Cups are made of soft medical-grade silicone.

How can I sterilise the cups?

Disinfect the cup before every use by washing with Sirona Menstrual Cup Wash.
Sterilise by putting it in boiling water for 3-5 minutes or by using Sirona
Menstrual Cup Sterilizer. Remember to put the cup in a strainer so it doesn't touch the bottom or floats. Boil it for 5-10 mins. Overheating degrades the silicone's shelf life so remove it from hot water after 5 minutes.

How much blood can the cup hold?

An average woman bleeds anywhere between 30-80 ml during one cycle. The cup
can hold up to 15, 25, or 30 ml of blood, depending on the size (small, medium or
large). Hence, Sirona menstrual cups can easily hold the blood during your periods.

How to discard the menstrual cup?

As medical grade silicone is not recyclable or biodegrable, one must cut it into smaller pieces before discarding it in the bin.
